OPA 2019 Annual Conference

May 3-4, 2019 - Hilton Eugene - Eugene, OR

"Addiction and Its Impact on Families, Children, and Society"

Request for Presentations

The call for breakout session presentations is now closed.

  • Our conference theme is "Addiction and Its Impact on Families, Children, and Society".  This conference will focus on these key issues and some potential topics include getting an individual into opioid addiction treatment, convincing an individual of the need to enter treatment, assessing the impact of marijuana use on sexuality, determining if there is there clinical efficacy for psilocybin or ayahuasca with anxiety and the over-controlled personality style,  and setting parameters on children’s marijuana use when the children believe that CBD's are helping them with their anxiety or pain - to name a few.  We welcome ideas and suggestions that expand on these topics or introduce new ones to present.  Diversity and multicultural issues within psychology are always a key area of importance for the conference and continuing education.  As always, other topics related to psychology are welcome.   All presentations are to run 1.5 hours.
  •  If you would like to suggest a specific presenter and topic, please e-mail OPA at [email protected] with that information.
  •  Psychology students are encouraged to submit their work as well.
  • The deadline to apply is October 22, 2018.
  • Due to the limited number of sessions available during the conference, not all submissions can be accepted. The OPA conference committee will make the selections based on the foundation in evidence, clarity of the proposal, probable interest to participants, feasibility, and space and time constraints.
